Human Resource Specialist

We are in search of an energetic, outgoing, and eager to work, Human Resource Specialist for a local client of ours. The ideal candidate would be ready to hit the ground running and do whatever comes their way! This person will report directly to the CEO/Co-Founder and must possess the ability to work independently and exercise complete confidentiality with all work content. ENERGY IS KEY! Responsibilities: Recruitment: Full recruitment process to fill direct hire needs; includes tracking applicants, conducting background checks, and VOE’s. Resourceful and creative thinking for recruiting candidates using traditional and non-traditional methods (i.e. ads, social media, SMS). Payroll: Manage and process multi-state Driver payroll. Ensure that all new hire documentation is completed o Maintain and manage payroll and HR portals. Additional: Benefit Services – Manage and coordinate benefit administration of all plans, including renewals and open enrollment. Handbook, Policies and Procedures – Advise managers on interpretation of policies and procedures; review annually to ensure compliance; communicate changes to employees. Misc. HR & Payroll tasks including but not limited to: Retain personnel and DOT files and ensure compliance with documentation requirements. Assist Operations with annual Driver Performance Evaluations. Assist Safety and Fleet Operations with annual MVR reviews. Provide support for all employees with benefit and payroll related issues. Requirements: Working knowledge of HR and Payroll principles; prefer ADP experience as well as experience with multi-state payroll. Knowledge of DOT regulations helpful. Strong customer service skills. Extremely organized and experienced in prioritizing. Ability to multi-task and superb at paying attention to detail. Ability to communicate with others effectively and clearly in both written and verbal form. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). MUST be strong in Excel. Confident and determined to be the best at what you do! Compensation: Based on experience, skill set and interview. Education and Experience: Associate degree or HR certification preferred. 3 years HR Generalist experience in a small company (recruiting and payroll emphasis a must).
